For years we were told fat was bad. We were told that if we didn't want fat on our bodies we shouldn't eat it and that it could lead to heart disease, obesity, and diabetes. But now years of research and studies have shown that fat has little, if any, connection to these health problems. More evidence is linking sugar, sweeteners, and refined carbohydrates as the cause of these issues. To help explain this change in understand is Dr. Mark Hyman, chairman of the Institute for Functional Medicine. He's the author of 12 books on health and diet and his newest deals with the very issue of eating fat. Dr. Hyman even says one of the best things you can do for your health and to manage weight is eating more fat! How has there been such a drastic change in understanding regarding fats? Does this open the floodgates to eat whatever fats we want?
